Surface Tension: The Feature

Based on a short story written by Science Fiction Hall of Fame author James Blish, “Surface Tension” is the story of a society of microscopic aqua-humans that thrive in their undersea kingdom until their mortal enemy, the “Eaters,” kill the humans' leader in battle. The leader’s untested son, Lavon, must take over in his father’s stead. With this new responsibility, Lavon soon learns that his people may have come from another world – a world beyond the seemingly impenetrable “surface tension” of the ocean. With more Eaters closing in on his kingdom, Lavon is desperate to save his people and sets off on a journey of a lifetime to find out if there is life beyond their home.
